The-above-captioned-matter-was-heard-as-a-contested-case-on-April-28,-1987,-at-which-time-the-complainant-appeared-and-presented-testimony-on-the-complaint.--The-respondent-failed-to-appear.
After-consideration-of-the-entire-record,-the-following-facts-are-found:
1.--The-respondent-is-a-public-agency-within-the-meaning-of-1-18a(a),-G.S.
2.--By-letter-of-complaint-filed-with-the-Commission-on-March-20,-1987,-the-complainant-alleged-that-the-respondent-failed-to-provide-her-with-notice-of-the-regular-meetings,-the-special-meetings-and-the-public-hearings-of-the-legislative-council-of-the-Town-of-Hamden-in-violation-of-§1-21c,-G.S.
3.--It-is-found-that-the-respondent-failed-to-provide-the-complainant-with-notice-of-three-meetings-of-the-legislative-council,-in-violation-of-1-21c,-G.S.
4.--The-Commission-notes,-however,-that-the-only-requirement-under-1-21c,-G.S.,-is-that-the-agency,-where-practicable,-give-notice-by-mail-of-each-regular-meeting-and-of-any-special-meeting-called,-at-least-one-week-prior-to-the-date-set-for-the-meeting.

The-following-order-by-the-Commission-is-hereby-recommended-on-the-basis-of-the-record-concerning-the-above-captioned-complaint:
1.--The-respondent-shall-henceforth-provide-the-complainant-with-notice-of-the-regular-meetings,-the-special-meetings-and-the-public-hearings-of-the-legislative-council-of-the-town-of-Hamden,-in-compliance-with-1-21c,-G.S.,-on-the-date-the-notice-is-prepared-for-filing-with-the-municipal-clerk-by-the-respondent.
